live on the line to protect her young children is recovering this morning in an east bay hospitals. 38 year-old maria cardova still did her seven year-old twins from gunfire that erupted outside a per church in east oakland on christmas eve. oakland police are still searching for the gunman who opened fire outside of centro evangel-eestico bethel monday night. investigators say that the shooter targeted a 17 year- old boy as he left a nearby liquor store. >> authorities have identified the armed suspect shot and killed by police officers in walnut creek apartment building as a 22 year-old man. we brought this story live to you from the scene on the kron 4

morning news yesterday. officers reported to a 911 call in which someone was screaming in the background. police say the they were forced to fire at " anthony banta jr."who was pronounced dead at the scene. they have not release any other details about the confrontation. there were no other injuries and a board is are not looking for any other suspects. >> prosecutors sent new that have filed charges against two uc berkeley law students accused of killing eight and decapitating an exotic bird a loss vegas resort. police arrested 24 year-old justin teixeira and 24 year-old eric cuellar back in october. authorities say

second one. they have not identified the victim and they are canvassing the neighborhood to find video of the woman. >> the nexus are joining the investigation into the sandy hook elementary school shooting massacre. the state medical examiner will do a complete analysts of gunmen adam lands as of dna. they are not looking for anything in particular in the analyst but they are unlikely that they will find a genetic clue into lands as motive behind the shooting. genetics say that they are genetic components to mental illnesses but there may be genes involved, not just a single gene or a mutation. results of the dna analysts are not expected for several weeks. >> police say an autopsy shows that the gunman who

killed two new york firefighters died of a self- inflicted gunshot wound to his head. autopsy showed one of the firefighters died of a single gunshot, and the other died of two shots. 62 year-old william spengler set his home and his car on fire on christmas eve morning. he then opened fire on the first two firefighters to arrive on the scene. this is video from the scene. the body found inside of the home has not been identified. police believe that it is his sister. the gunman also wounded two other far fires and an off-duty police officer. >> new this morning. former art the egyptian president hosni mubarak has been transferred to a military hospital after doctors found fractures in his ribs from a recent fall. mubarak is
